1 MAY 2020
YOUR WEDDING DAY VISION, REALISED
You are planning your wedding day and ideas are swirling around your head about style, colour and theme. From choosing a venue to tasting cake, there are a million things on the checklist of planning your special day. At times, the process can be overwhelming and we’re sure there are aspects of this journey that excite you more than others.
Floral Styling is a key component when it comes to wedding planning. Flowers have the ability to transform a wedding venue to an event experience, taking your guests on a journey through your style and vision, being remembered for years to come. Choosing the right florist for you is key to nailing the overall feel of your day. We’d love to take the opportunity to introduce you to Floral Architecture and the talented duo, Alice & Rosie, who are creating emotive wedding day floral experiences across Melbourne & Victoria.
THE DREAM
Floral Architecture began in 2015 when Alice & Rosie made the a connection while dreaming about a visionary floral styling business specialising in weddings and events across Victoria.
Our dream was to connect with clients, get to know them intimately and in turn, create stunning floral styling that spoke directly to their soul, nailed their brief and created a magical experience for every single one of their guests.
After a year and a half of daydreaming, brainstorming and planning, from a humble shared studio space in Rupert Street Collingwood, the Floral Architecture dream came to life.
THE CREATIVES
Rosie, with 18 years of floral experience has flower pollen running in her veins. These years of experience have nurtured strong relationships with growers and wholesalers, which ensure we can offer our clients the freshest, quality flowers available. Rosie has an eye for the details while being able see the big picture.
Rosie is a trained floristry TAFE teacher, which is where she met Alice. Alice retrained as a florist in 2015 after a career change from working at an Investment Bank. Alice has an eye for styling and a love of flowers, but still enjoys the structure that comes from sitting behind the computer creating quotes.
Outside of the business, Rosie and Alice share a love of cats, red wine, indoor plants, live music and Japanese food. We think of ourselves as a talented duo with impeccable taste for the simple things in life.
THE VISION
As 2020 began, Floral Architecture was midway through a busy wedding season. We were excited about the year ahead and the weddings we had on the books. Covid-19 derailed the 2020 full stop. Our first worry was for the health and wellbeing of our planet and all the souls on it. We try not to focus on the negative on a personal level as we are all in this together.
However, like the rest of the wedding industry, we spent weeks speaking with clients, rescheduling wedding dates and deciding how to tackle the short term destruction to our industry. We made the decision to find the silver lining, spend some time focusing on our business processes, branding, website and all the things we don’t get a chance to prioritise when we are up to our elbows in flowers. Keep and eye on this space as we begin to implement changes to our logo, branding and website. We are excited to share this with you soon!As restrictions begin to ease, we are quietly, but excitedly anticipating the return to what we love. Which is creating beautiful florals for our beautiful clients. It’s been an emotional rollercoaster for engaged couples all over the country and we are hopeful that normality returns soon and these couples can get back to planning their Happily Ever After. 2021 is likely to be a bumper year for the wedding industry around the globe! Here in Melbourne, we are excited to get back to the beautiful venues of the City, Yarra Valley, Dandenong Ranges, Mornington Peninsula and Bellarine Peninsula. We are blessed with so many beautiful regions to hold weddings at in Victoria! So, while we wait for the real fun to begin, we’ll be over here cuddling our cats, eating Japanese food and planning how we can bring more beauty to this world through our love of flowers and creativity.
Stay Safe,
Rosie & Alice
